Hi, I’m Josh Bale, an illustrator and graphic designer, from Jersey, located within the English Channel.
After graduating from Bournemouth Arts in Visual Communication, I chose to return to my origins as an illustrator. The artwork I create is inspired by; Pop Culture, Myths, Fables, Nature, Japanese animation and my favourite illustrator Chris Riddell.
I’m Interested in doing illustration, textile prints, apparel, packaging and branding. Commissions and collaborations are welcome!

Work process
This process is essential to achieve the graphic result & rendering that the customer wants.
1. First, I take the time to fully understand the intentions/ideas that the client wishes to transcribe. This part included studying the subject in depth, discussing, and suggesting ideas.
2. Once the idea/concept is more concrete, I propose two to three different sketches of the project (Made by hand or digitally).
3. Afterwards, once the sketch is validated and corrected, I propose two axes of colour research. (Made by hand or digitally).
4. Finally, only when the first 3 points are validated, I begin the final illustration.
